What is Keyword?
A keyword is a word or phrase- typically a phrase of two or three words that identified content,images,text documents,videos,Web pages and database records through metadata. If people needs to search anything in the internet, they use keywords. For example, you search “flowers” in the images search box then you will see all kind of flower images are appear in images search results for the “flowers” keyword.
Google Adwords Keyword Planner
Google Adwords keyword planner is a free keyword suggestion tool offered by Google Adwords. Actually the keyword planner is an alternative of the keyword tool. The keyword planner tool is easy to access and anyone can use it for their SEO campaigns. For using this tool you must have a Google adwords account and be logged into that account. You enter a word or phrase in the search for keywords section then the Adwords keyword planner provide search results, a list of relevance keywords and other additional data.
Now let’s see how to use the Google Adwords Keyword Planner to get keyword ideas–
First, you must log in to your Google Adwords account. Once logged into keyword planner you will see Google Adwords homepage. Now you see “Tools” button at the top, click on the tools and then click Keyword Planner.
Now, you will see “search for keywords” button at the right side, for the sake of doing keyword research click on the “search for keywords” now you have four options.
Search for new keyword and ad group ideas
The first option is similar with previous Google Adwords Keyword Tool. In this section, now you can put your product or service, then your landing page and then your product category. Google Adwords Keyword Planner result pages defaults to “Ad group ideas”.
You can click on the Keywords ideas tab for get exact keywords ideas then you will see keyword result pages.
Here, you can see keywords ideas based on your keywords you can also see Avg.monthly searches, competition etc. You can hover over the graph to see the monthly search volume and you can also see other relevance keyword results.
You can download your keywords ideas, click download button at the top of your results.
You can check “Targeting” option at left side of page, you can target a specific country, language, search engine or negative keywords. I recommend you just target USA country,English language and Google search engine.
“Negative Keywords” means those keywords which are dissociate with your keywords.
All the above steps are important steps to learn how to use Google AdWords keyword Planner for keyword ideas. Now come to the two main point, “Avg. monthly searches and Competition” are two main topic for keyword selection. ‘Avg. monthly searches results’ is the indicator how many people searches over last 12 months.
Next ‘competition’ obviously this isn’t search engine competition, this is AdWords competition. This competition for people advertising within AdWords. But this can give us useful insights. High competition keywords can be convert and low competition keywords probably won’t convert.
